Casio CTS-1

Portable Keyboard / Synthesizer

Notes: My main gigging board. Great sounds for the price. I've drawn all over this thing, slapped stickers on it, and even had an LED light strip attached, but the cable ripped off at some point. I particularly like the phaser EP, drawbar organ, and mellotron patches.

Yamaha Reface YC

Combo Organ Synthesizer

Notes: The first "pro" keyboard I've obtained, although you could argue it's still quite gimmiky and toy-like. I would argue it packs way more of a punch than it looks like it would. I am very happy with the keybed, and drawbar functionality. Pro level sounds for sure. I baby this thing, taking it to gigs in my U-bass gig bag.

Casio CDP-230R

Digital Piano / Workstation

Notes: My digital piano, now rarely used. The CTS1 Replaced this thing, although I used both this, and the CTS1 for a while. That ended when I got the YC. This thing has a ton of complexity beneath the surface, but is kind of held back by the sound engine being somewhat cheesy. You can load midi files to it with an SD card, so that's fun. I ought to get it setup to write some more classical piano inspired stuff.

Casiotone CT-380

Vintage PCM Keyboard

Notes: I pulled this thing out of a dumpster around 2020. Fixed up the power jack, and now it is a thing that exists. I only really pull this out to mess around with. It has the least resitance of any keybed I've ever tried. This allows it to be played a lightning speed. Which is fun, but the sounds are unfortunately all sample based. There is no real time synthesis. The sample tech was new in the 80's, but now it just sounds and plays dated. I believe this model is a full size version of a smaller casiotone with the same exact electronics.

Lowrey Quickstart

Home Console Organ

Notes: $100 from a local music store. Worth it? Depends on if I can find a way to make it not sound like ass. Built in speaker gets loud enough to shake the building.

M-Audio Oxygen Pro Mini

USB MIDI Keyboard Controller

Notes: Utilitarian MIDI controller. I've used this thing for all my Ableton MIDI needs since 2022. If you hear a synth in one of my songs, it was played on this. I quite like the drum pads. Sometimes when you play too fast or erratically, it will get stuck holding notes. Very annoying...

Monarch Accordion

Piano Accordion

Notes: My baby, this is my baby. Well, one of many. My hero plays a Monarch accordion. His name is Jackson Parodi. Musically, I owe a ton to him.

Noble Accordion

Piano Accordion

Notes: The big boy. My back WILL be thrown out for 4-5 business days if I have to play it standing for more than an hour. Has an old school microphone system built in. I had to buy a custom-made cable for it. Shouts out to Alchemy Audio!

Carbonari & Sons C System Button Accordion

C-System Chromatic Button Accordion

Notes: My brain has to be on performance mode to play this. I know a couple of songs, but I really really need to dig deeper and get better with this one.
